How do you mean "purloined letter" (i know the refernce to Kafka, but how do you mean it)?
It's a letter never expected to reach it's destination, written more to resolve the "writer's" issues, than the intended "receiver's," in this case, Meeko.
...as in Kafka's letter to his father.
